Searf was created to give users of popular internet browsers a snapshot look into a business or website before they need to engage with them. The tools are there to help everyday users share information relating to the site. This in turn can help businesses better understand, engage and support their customers. Every domain that is available on a search engine, will have Searf tools linked to it.

There is a lot of rubbish out there in search results today. By having a snapshot look into a site before you need to go into it, you can gauge the performance before you enter. This can save you a lot of time when you are looking for things, thus Searf speeds up your search process.

At Searf we believe in a completely new model when it comes to the way the browser and the internet works. Traditionally, browsers were and are set up to make money through advertising and manipulating their user's data. We believe that this model will become redundant. We are building our browsers and extensions within other browsers to firstly help users with all the Searf features and secondly to help businesses better serve their users by enabling SEA tools to help them amplify their user's experiences on the browser. The standard set of Searf tools are made available to users and are present on every available domain that exists on search engines, for example;

Rest easy, Searf will NEVER look at or track your Search activity, we have zero use for it and it is a part of our long-term strategy to have all businesses leave that alone. We also have a private search button in the main Searf menu that allows you to search without any tracking of history.

Anything created within the realm of Searf and NOT what you are doing under the guise of Google, is saved in our system and hosted on our servers. This includes activities such as posting comments in public, messaging businesses with Searf business tools, etc.

Comments on a Searf feed are set to last for a rolling period of 6 months before they fall away, unless a business, registered with Searf, elects to keep the comments live and public for a longer period to help others, in which case the comment is public until that business or the user decides to remove it. You can simply delete comments you have made by finding the comment, clicking on the drop-down arrow, and selecting the delete option. You will also have access to all of your Searf activity history, where you can easily find the information you have contributed on Searf.

Searf was created to give users a snapshot of the current performance of a company. It can act as a warning system to the user if that particular business is behaving inappropriately, for example, the business concerned is scamming users, either online or in reality. The point of Searf is not to discredit the business and the rolling 6-month drop-off period is to allow a business to improve on its performance and in so have a more accurate view of its performance based on the current period. If a business is consistently behaving inappropriately online or offline and users are reporting them, it will show. More importantly, the Searf tools enable a forum of helpful information for users and this is why we let businesses decide on keeping certain content live for longer periods, though if you delete content you have added, it will be gone for good.

Searf Messages is still under construction but what we can tell you is how you can use it when it comes online in the coming versions. Users will have the option to send messages directly and in private to businesses who have activated the feature in Searf SEA™ tools. Searf Messages also allows us to communicate important details relating to reporting and abuse of Searf tools per below.

The internet is a big and vast place but that doesn’t mean users and businesses should not be protected from trolls and or other malicious, no good kooks!
Defⁿ Kook : Any Searfer who endangers or impedes other Searfers. Generally clueless with little understanding of Searf etiquette. Not necessarily a beginner, as experienced Searfers are also subject to sporadic moments of kookism.
We have various ways of dealing with such kooks, as you will see below:

Firstly, you can’t swear on Searf. We have protocols in place to stop you but should you be found to be bypassing our system to get around those protocols, the violator would be in contravention of our policies, your account will be closed and removed from our system, our servers, and of course you won't be able to use Searf with that account anymore.

When a user attempts to delete or report a comment, a box of reporting options is given to the user reporting or deleting:

Defⁿ Profanity : an offensive or obscene word or phrase
Defⁿ Hate speech : public speech that expresses hate or encourages violence towards a person or group based on something such as race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation
Defⁿ Harassment : illegal behavior towards a person that causes mental or emotional suffering, which includes repeated unwanted contacts without a reasonable purpose, insults, threats, or offensive language:
Defⁿ Invades my privacy : a situation in which someone fails to respect a person’s right to keep certain personal information from being known She felt that the guard’s request to search her was an invasion of (her) privacy
Defⁿ Spam : irrelevant or unsolicited messages sent over the internet, typically to a large number of users, for the purposes of advertising, phishing, spreading malware, etc.
Defⁿ I think this is a robot : a machine that resembles a living creature in being capable of moving independently
Defⁿ Defaming or slandering a domain : to attack the good name or reputation of, as by uttering or publishing maliciously or falsely anything injurious
Defⁿ Contains copyright or trademark violation : protected by copyright and or trademark

Once a user has selected from the choice of behavioral patterns deemed to be unfit for public user consumption, a few things happen:

Based on the content and at the discretion of Searf systems protocol, the following actions can be taken, concerning the reporting of a comment:

Users and domains can be suspended or removed indefinitely if found in violation of Searf terms.
